 | Sol 59
TEGA pumped with filament so it is now cleaned and ready for a sample. TECP data successfully downloaded for the last two days.
|
 | Sol 58
TEGA bake, heater characterization successful; RA scrape “Snow White” trench, RA placement test - successful; OM presample imaging. Surface imaging photometry. MECA pre-sample documentation.
|
 | Sol 57
OM imaging; AFM linear calibration; RA scrape “Snow White” trench to prepare "Snow White" for rasping.
|
 | Sol 56
AFM frequency test and temperature monitoring; TECP soil measurement, TECP retraction; RA rasp test in “Snow White.”
|
 | Sol 55
Atmospheric sol – awake for entire sol; TECP in soil; Coordinated atmospheric SSI and lidar observations; RAC imaging to look for frost
|
 | Sol 54
Document rasp test and TECP insertion. TECP soil measurement. Midnight Sun image completed.
|
 | Sol 53
RA rasp testing in “Snow White” trench; TEGA cell 0 doors open fully. More photometric observations.
|
 | Sol 52
SSI multispectral imaging; Coordinated observations; Atmospheric observations.
|
 | Sol 51
AFM static, OM images, TECP measurements . Scraping attempt, ran into hard object. The arm ran in to some kind of little obstruction at the bottom of the trench, so it met more resistance than expected.

Phoenix has successfully used its rasp tool to enable the acquisition of a sample of ice-rich soil from the surface of Mars. The first rasp attempt involved two rasping motions, which created two little holes in the flat surface at the bottom of the Snow White trench. Then the sample successfully tipped through the back of the bucket into the front where they could watch it over the course of several hours. WCL thaw test; AFM linear calibration
